# Fees and Costs

Evaluate the complete cost of a position, even when a platform fee is zero.

| Cost                               | What it represents                                                                  |
| ---------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Share purchase                     | Capital paid for the outcome position                                               |
| Spread                             | Difference between available buy and sell prices                                    |
| Slippage                           | Difference between an indicative price and actual execution across available orders |
| Trading or claim fee               | Any charge shown for the relevant action                                            |
| Network or transfer cost           | Cost of a supported transaction or external transfer                                |
| Product-specific allocation or fee | Terms of a pool or automated strategy, where applicable                             |

Check the current order, deposit, withdrawal, claim, or product screen for applicable charges and gas sponsorship. A sponsored transaction inside Vigilan does not imply that a transfer from another exchange, bridge, or wallet is free.

Trading costs and gas sponsorship can change. Do not assume that a fee policy described in older Versus materials applies indefinitely to every Vigilan product.

The cost of purchasing shares is not a platform fee. It is the capital at risk in the position. Selling early may also realize a loss because of price changes, spread, or limited liquidity.
