# Vigilan Earn and Liquidity Provision

### Taking the other side of a hedge

A participant can buy an outcome because its price reflects an attractive risk-return profile, or place limit orders to provide liquidity. That participant accepts the possibility that the purchased position may receive no payout.

For example, buying 1,000 No shares at 0.90 USDT costs 900 USDT. If the market resolves No, the net return is 100 USDT before other costs. If the market resolves Yes, the purchased No shares receive no payout and the full 900 USDT purchase cost is at risk.

A likely outcome is not a risk-free return. A small potential gain can be accompanied by a much larger loss if the opposite outcome occurs.

### Market-making returns

Quoting both sides can generate trading income when execution prices and inventory outcomes are favorable. Returns depend on actual fills, price movements, adverse selection, and final payouts.

A model's estimate of fair value can be wrong. Time passing without an event does not guarantee that a No position appreciates or that a liquidity strategy earns a positive return.

### Vigilan Earn: Coming Soon

Vigilan Earn is presented as a planned automated strategy that allocates capital to event-market positions. The [public Earn page](https://app.vigilan.market/earn) currently labels the product **Coming Soon** and its displayed interface and returns as illustrative.

Preview APR, drawdown, portfolio balances, allocation percentages, and return charts are not evidence of a live track record or an available deposit offer.

At launch, refer to the product's published deposit, withdrawal, allocation, valuation, and fee terms. Do not apply terms from older Versus Liquidity Provider materials to Vigilan Earn unless the product explicitly adopts them.

### How these products differ

<table data-header-hidden><thead><tr><th width="315.32421875"></th><th></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Activity</td><td>Primary role</td></tr><tr><td>Direct Market trading</td><td>Choose and manage individual event positions</td></tr><tr><td>Order-book liquidity provision</td><td>Supply executable bids or asks while managing inventory risk</td></tr><tr><td>Protected Pools</td><td>Combine supported LP activity with a pool-integrated hedge mechanism</td></tr><tr><td>Vigilan Earn</td><td>Planned automated allocation strategy; currently a preview</td></tr></tbody></table>

Any automated strategy can incur losses. Diversification and position limits can reduce certain exposures but cannot guarantee principal or an executable exit during a market shock.
